The ‘State of Mind’ series began as a symbolic and very real exploration of Ronaldo’s brother’s journey with his mental health. I am a ceramic artist working and living in London. I am tutor at Morley north Kensington College and run ceramic workshops at Create Space London, Willesden Green.
In January 2020 I was a participant in the Great Pottery Throw Down which aired on Chanel 4. It was a fantastic experience but a real emotional rollercoaster. I met amazing people and learnt a lot about myself through this adventure.
As an artist I create functional and decorative ceramic art. Most of my pieces are glazed using my own recipes, often inspired by the colours in the countryside of Barbados where I grew up. In my artwork you will see the glowing shorelines and vibrant landscapes in the shades of blue, green and white.
As a boy, I had a great passion for art, and being the son of two potters, I spent most of my time in their workshops.
By 15 I had been exposed to various ceramic and artistic techniques and I had become highly involved in the production at my father's workshop in Barbados. After high school I completed an Art & Design Foundation Diploma at Croydon College, and then attended Ravensbourne Design College where I studied Product Design Ba Hons.
